History of Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy dates back over 6 thousand years and has been used throughout the ages by the Chinese, Egyptians, Greeks and Romans.

The modern day practice of Aromatherapy was developed by two Frenchman, Rene-Maurice Gatefosse and Dr Jean Valnet who researched the healing and regenerative properties of essential oils.

Aromatherapy uses plant oils, more commonly known as 'essential oils' for a variety of treatments, normally carried out in conjuction with massage.  Essential oils work with the body's own defense mechanisms to help balance the mind, body and spirit, thereby helping the body to heal itself.

Benefits

Aromatherapy can be used to stimulate the immune system as well as alleviating stress, anxiety, muscular aches and pains, fatigue, headaches, insomnia and promoting healing.

Treatment

The therapist will conduct a consultation to assist in producing a personal treatment plan and to ascertain any medical conditions which may have a bearing on the type of treatment which can be offered.
