History of Indian Head Massage

Indian Head Massage dates back over 1000 years and was originally practiced to improve scalp and hair condition.  It is known as 'champissage' from the Hindu word 'champi' meaning massage (also where the word 'shampoo' is derived from).

During the late 1970's, Narenda Metha further developed the treatment to include the upper back, shoulders, neck and face.

Benefits

Indian Head Massage is particularly useful for releasing tension, stress, headaches and migraine.

Treatment

Treatments are normally administered with the client fully clothed and in a seated position.  Oils may or may not be used, although the use of oils can assist in strengthening hair, improving it's appearance and condition.
